Q: What does “Independent Contractor” mean?
A: This simply means that you work for yourself and handle your own business and expenses. This includes: vehicle fuel, vehicle maintenance, needed equipment, and Social Security / Income taxes.

Q: What does an Independent Contractor do?
A: An Independent Contractor accepts an offered delivery and takes it from point A to point B. He/she is paid a fee for each accepted and fullfilled delivery.

Q: Do I need a certain type of vehicle to be an Independent Contractor with Hill Deliver?
A: Yes & No, although 1 Tons are the best option, it depends on your GVWR.

Q: What amount of compensation can I average on a weekly basis?
A: It would depend on how much work you do.  The more you accept, the more you make. 


Q: Do I need a special license to carry cargo as an Independent Contract?
A: You must have a valid commercial driver license (CDL), current DOT physical, current MVR, proof of insurance and a clean Motor Vehicle Record to be an Independent Contractor with Hill Deliver.

Q: What equipment will I need to be an Independent Contractor?
A: Most Independent Contractors have on hand  12 -- 2" Ratchet Straps, 2" and 2 5/16" Ball Hitches, Gooseneck Hitch, Pintle Hitch
 

     In addition, Hill Deliver requires a cell phone for texting & communication and a GPS.

Q: Do I supply my own way to communicate with Hill Deliver dispatch?
A: Yes, most Independent Contractors have a cell phone and use that to communicate with operations.

Q: Is there any initial cost to me to become an Independent Contractor with Hill Deliver?
A: Not if you have the equipment, licensing, and other documents needed.

Q: How soon can I start Contracting with Hill Deliver?
A: Hill Deliver has a detailed screening and guideline process which generally takes one to two days before

     you can accept a transport.
